Adding Layers to ancient land
Suvla is a family owned viticulture and wine production company founded by couple Pınar & Selim Ellialtı in 2003. The winery and the family vineyard are nestled in Eceabat, Çanakkale, the historical home for Troy and unique land side Gallipoli at Dardannel Channel, North Aegean. The brand takes it’s name from the virgin bay Suvla, located on the North Aegean coast of Historical Gallipoli Peninsula close to family vineyard. In this region, famous with it’s history, the relationship between vines and soil is going on for centuries. Focused on sustainable farming practices the family vineyard was planted with 50 ha and reached to 100ha with15 varieties and is qualifed for “EU approved Organic Certificate” as of 2023.
Suvla pursues to produce wines of subtle, rich in character with elegant and exquisite finish to complement extensive range of dishes. Suvla crafts wines in her unique style to offer a wealth of experience from the grapes of family vineyard Bozokbağ, vineyards of closer circle from North Aegean & Thrace and selected vineyards from Turkey for indigenous varieties, such as, Tokat, Elazığ, Diyarbakır and Cappadocia. These wines reveal its spectacular geography and a land full of history.
Suvla kept consumer sensitivity and priorities at the forefront in wine production; conviviality in nature and environmental sustainability along Renewable Solar Energy, Wastewater Management and Organic Viticulture Approach. The winery employs methods that respect the environment and promote bio-diversity, ensuring the health of the vineyards for future generations and continues to innovate using best industry practices and wine- making techniques. The infrastructure of the winery includes 3 interconnected production facilities dedicated to micro-vinification, experimental vinification, and large-scale production for effective production with a processing capacity of 5 million liters. The wines are crafted by harvesting local grapes as well as international grapes from their own lands throughout Türkiye.
The Suvla winery production team, with an average of 30 years of experience and expertise, produces various series of white, rosé, and red wines based on different production techniques and diversity, under the consultancy of French oenologists living in Bordeaux and Val de Loire who have been with them since their early days with periodic visits. They prioritize offering a rich experience by separately processing many small private vineyards and local grape varieties, primarily focusing on the local grapes of the North Aegean and Eceabat region, such as Kınalı Yapıncak and Karasakız.
While offering a variety of products that can accompany different moments, Suvla conducts accessible series as well as limited, organic and special productions. Suvla has totally 70+ labels to satisfy different tastes. Suvla wines are listed in A+ restaurants, hotels, all chain stores and reputable wine boutiques throughout Türkiye and has a distribution organization in Germany.
The modern style winery houses a facility of traditional olive oil mill for producing extra virgin olive oil as well as processing olive and natural agricultural products – Kilye Natural Products brand, which started with the passion for natural, healthy, and additive-free production in the early years of the couple’s winemaking journey. Primarily producing natural products that process local crops such as olives, olive oil, and the famous Çanakkale tomatoes harvested only in summer, this production center has been continuing for approximately 18 years with a production model that prioritizes women’s labor and offers unique and exclusive products.
For nearly 20 years, it has been a pleasure to appeal to different palates and to connect with wine lovers, realizing that in addition to production, offering new products to consumers is a growing joy. With the teachings learned from her journey, Suvla creates a wide collection of wines and distilled products selected from the world’s leading terroirs and different regions, aiming to provide wine enthusiasts with richer variety and experiences. In 2023, through Suvla Import, which was established with an experienced team, Suvla has the opportunity to get acquainted with each of the brands it imports and distributes throughout Turkey, visiting wineries and distilleries, and experiencing their products. The portfolio reflecting the value of wine, built on the relationships developed during the import process with selected producers, has been strong from the start. Each of these special brands, chosen according to her own taste, has a distinct connection to the terroir and the producer, thanks to Suvla’s expertise and vision.
The character of the region it belongs to, its nature, and the uniqueness of its soil are reflected not only in the wines but also in all of Suvla’s distinctive presentations. Suvla strives to embody her identity as an economic and cultural bridge between the past and the future of the region it is located in. On this long journey Suvla walks in pursuit of her dreams, Suvla desires to become a preferred brand in the world of gastronomy with the strength she derives from her team of over 300 people, and continues to produce in the style and variety she wishes, hoping to accompany wine enthusiasts in different moments.
Suvla has been deemed over 750 top level medals and accolades both domestically and internationally since 2012. The brand’s commitment to quality and innovation has helped it garner a reputation that puts the winery among Turkey’s leading wine producers. Lately Suvla has been awarded as 6 times a row in 2020-2021-2022-2023-2024-2025 “Best Winery in Balkan’s” in The Balkan’s International Wine Competition. “Best of Show Turkey” from Mundus Vini and 2 Grand Gold from Mundus Vini and Vinaria in 2023. Suvla won 5 Gold and 4 Silver medals at the AWC Vienna Wine Competition in 2024 and received the title of “4-Star Winery”.
As we enter 2025, Suvla, which received the Best of Show award from Mundus Vini 25, was awarded at the ceremony held at Prowein for ‘Suvla Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2022’, which won the Best of Show Turkey Red and Grand Gold awards. In the same competition, Suvla’s success was crowned with its wines winning 5 Gold and 1 Silver medals. In June 2025, Suvla was awarded a Gold Medal (Suvla Grand Reserve Merlot 2022) with 95 points at the IWSC International Wine Competition, along with 6 Silver and 12 Bronze medals. At the Concours Mondial De Bruxelles 2025 wine competition held in Belgium, Suvla was deemed with 1 Grand Gold (Suvla Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2022, Organic), 1 Gold, and 3 Silver Medals.
Suvla also operates two restaurants that host approximately 85,000 visitors annually and manages 8 retail points in Turkey that interact with over 72,855 consumers each year. Its restaurant dedicated to the winery located in Eceabat started operations at its establishment, and with the Suvla Bistro Wine Bar/Kanyon restaurant and wine bar operating in Istanbul since 2016, it offers wine enthusiasts a dining and wine experience with contemporary menus.
